I have 3 email accounts set up on my new iPhone 16. In Settings->Notifications->Mail->Cutomise Notifications I have set a different sound for each email account. Sometimes it uses the correct sound for an incoming email, sometimes it uses the sound set for a different account, and sometimes it uses another sound altogether. Very very annoying.

iOS does not allow setting different notification sounds per email account natively within the built-in Mail app. The sound you assign in:
Settings → Sounds & Haptics → New Mail
…applies to all email accounts using the Mail app.

All my mail accounts are configured in the built-in iOS email app. Sounds can be set per account in Settings->Notifications->Mail->Customise Notifications which is what I have done. This worked fine on my old phone, but on the new one sometimes the accounts use the sound I’ve configured and sometimes they use the sound for an other account or a random other sound. Sometimes emails come in a few seconds apart on the same account and each one uses a different sound. Must just be more iOS bugs.
I am using the standard iOS mail app.
