Display phone number instead of full name on iPhone 14 calls

Currently when I call someone they see my full name; I'd rather they just see the phone #. Thanks

That is controlled either by the carrier with Caller ID, or by the receiver placing your name in their Contacts. That part is up to them, but Caller ID is a carrier feature. You can check with them to see if can do something about it. Turning off Caller ID would not fix it, since that would then display unknown caller and not display the number. I would suspect that when you call someone they want to know who it is. If they add your name to their contacts, that is what is going to show for them, no matter how they enter your name.

it’s not an option - I see from a comment below that it’s a Carrier controlled option? I understand about the contacts … and thanks all!

Who is your carrier? If it's Verizon (or one of the resellers who uses their network, you can't turn it off from the phone. However, you can turn it off by dialing a short code.

  1. Enter *67.
  2. Enter the number you wish to call (including area code).
  3. Tap Call. The words "Private," "Anonymous," or some other indicator will appear on the recipient's phone instead of your mobile number.

You can change your caller ID settings, but in that case, they will see neither your name nor your number.

If I recall correctly, my carrier used to have an option where you could change the name that appeared for caller ID. This was mostly intended for people on family plans who wanted to have their own name rather than the account holder's. It's been years since I even looked for something like that. However, if your carrier offers such a feature, you could change your name to your number. Of course, if people have your information stored in Contacts, it will show up on the screen as however they have you saved. That could be "John D. Doe" or it could be "Squidgee Widgee."

Not all carriers offer the ability to turn off caller ID. Evidently yours is one. I'm in the US and AT&T does offer the ability to turn it off.
