Are you buying direct from Apple?
Other resellers are not recommended for refurbished products because you don't know whether the company doing the refurbishing is approved by Apple.
I agree with Bob. Return it and get your money back. If you want to buy a refurbished iPhone, only buy one from Apple directly. It will certified, have a new authentic Apple Battery and Screen and come with a one year warranty directly with Apple --> Certified Refurbished Products - Apple
