Unable to access 'Forgot Passcode' option on locked iPhone

The “Forgot Passcode” doesn’t always appear, it only shows if a set of requirements are met, such as being on an active connection, having Find My enabled, being signed in with your Apple Account, and on iOS 15.2 or later. In this case you can restore your iPhone via a computer.

My iPhone says "Unavailable, try again in ..

You have to keep trying.....and waiting.....to see if the "Forgot Passcode" option appears in the lower right of the screen.

When you get to a screen that indicates that you need to wait 8 hours before trying again, you are getting close to running out of tries......and in theory....the "Forgot Passcode" option will appear at the lower right of the screen when you do run out of tries.

But....I have found that this is not always the case, and you have to go to the only remaining option.....using a computer.
