Your iPhone X is too old for iOS 17.
iPhone X is supported on iOS 16, and no later.
You will need a newer or new iPhone.
iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone SE 2nd gen, or newer are required for iOS 17 and iOS 18.
iPhone SE 2nd gen, iPhone 11, and later, are the oldest supported on the upcoming iOS 26.
