Loss of permissions to edit Pages and Numbers documents after macOS Sequoia update

This seems to affect documents in iPages and Numbers only.

[Re-Titled by Moderator]

Original Title: after the update to Sequoia 15.6 I no longer have permissions to change documents in iPages or Numbers. I tried changing permissions on each individual document but it tells me I do not have permission to do so. Help.

Mac mini, macOS 15.6

I may have cracked it. I went into the system and found Users folder, then found my file inside that folder. I used Info on that file, changed the settings to Read & Write, then unlocked the locked icon with my password. Now I can change the Numbers spreadsheet. Let me check on a Pages document.... Yes, that worked for Pages, too. Thanks for the help, Old Toad. Apparently the system update changed permissions on the system Users folders. Will check Beloved's folder to see if it was changed, too, and fix that if it has. Appreciate the tips that led me to the answer.

Old Toad, Permissions are Read & Write for both. The lock at the bottom of the Info is locked. Unlocking by clicking on the lock icon and entering my password turned the icon into unlocked but I still cannot edit the files. I get the error message that I don't have permission to write to the folder the documents are in. They are on the Desktop, not in a folder.
