Recently my MacBook has been hot, slow and makes a very loud fan noise. I am unsure of the cause.
Once not used for a while, it’s fine. However is used often is becomes apparent.
Are there any macbook users experiencing this problem. Can someone advise me please?

Heat and fans are what happens when one or more processes are using significant CPU/GPU resources. You can see what is doing that in activity monitor:

Note that Chrome and gaming are resource hogs.
Does this "noise" sound more like the laptop's fans are running at full speed or is it more of a grinding sound as though something is lodged in the fans?
For the former, neuroanatomist's reply would be spot on. For the latter, either the fan(s) are starting to fail, or there is some type of debris in the fans causing the noise.
