Can’t install downloaded apps on my Macbook Air

Hello,

Please help - this problem is killing me! The Macbook is brand new, freshly updated. When I double click a downloaded app (League of Legends Mac installer), a window pops up saying “Instalation failed. An error occured during installation”. The same thing happened with all other apps I downloaded and tried to install. I have enough storage space as the Macbook is new, I totally meet all the requirements and my OS is up to date.

Thanx in advance.

(the included picture is in Czech and the window is the translation of what I wrote)

League of Legends is an x86 (Intel-based) app, meaning to run on a newer Mac (with Apple Silicon) the Mac must be running Rosetta 2 to emulate the old environment. Your other apps are likely the same.

Rosetta 2 is part of macOS, but it's not installed anymore by default. Instead, you need to launch an x86 app to get macOS to prompt installation of Rosetta 2.

If you need to install Rosetta on Mac - Apple Support

The problem here is that the installers for those old apps are themselves x86 apps, but they sometimes don't trigger the OS to prompt the install of Rosetta2. So, try following the steps here instead:
