Do you mean how do criminals get remote access? If you're asking specifically about iPhones, it's very, very difficult and it costs about a half a million dollars. Are you a journalist, politician, activist or spy who has data that would be worth that kind of money to try to get?


Of course, if you jailbreak your phone, you remove the protections Apple puts in place and things might be different. If you install software from any place other than the App Store, that could also make you vulnerable.


What's a lot easier (though not easy) is for someone to gain access to your Apple Account.
