If you try to AirPlay to a Roku TV and it only shows a music note icon (or plays audio without video), it’s usually because many streaming services—including Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney+, and others—enforce strict digital rights management (DRM) rules. These rules require the TV (and any connected devices) to be HDCP-compliant (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). If the TV is not HDCP-compliant, or if the HDMI cable is damaged, outdated, or not HDCP-certified, the service will block the video stream for copyright protection purposes, showing only audio or a placeholder. This behavior is tied to content protection policies of the streaming service, not an issue with your iPhone or AirPlay itself.

No Video on Roku:

Not certain about "a music Box". If you are seeing a black screen, then it's a bug in the iOS. Are these downloaded? If so, remove them form your downloads, and then just perform a stream.

Mirroring iPhone to Roku TV:

  1. Try this App: Screen Mirroring for Roku - App Store
  2. As it Reads: "Screen Mirroring for Roku is the easy mirror app to share your iPhone or iPad screen on your Roku Streaming Player"
