In most cases all transactions in the App Store are final due to the explicit action on your part to authorize the charge, but at times Apple will offer a compassionate refund. When you sign up for a Free Trial you double click the side button where you will see the Trial period, Subscription Start Date, Subscription Price and length, and the message that says to cancel at least a day before the trial period ends to avoid charges.
