Incredibly disappointing battery life despite good battery health

My iPhone 13 Battery has been absolutely abysmal. I only get around 3-4 hours of battery life a day before the iPhone dies. I've done almost everything to improve my battery life, and this includes:

-Turning off Location Services

-Turning off background app refresh

-Disabling Push notifications

-Using Low power mode

-Turning down iPhone brightness

-Soft Resetting Iphone

-Completely factory resetting my Iphone

-Not having more than 4 apps running in the background.

I've done practically everything that can improve my battery life, but yet, I see no improvement.

And for the record, my iPhone battery health is literally ay 94%, which I have to say is not that bad.

iPhone 13, iOS 18

Did you purchase the device used or previously had the battery replaced? For a device that was first released 4 years ago, it would not be likely that it would still be at 94% on the original battery. On average, that is what would be seen after about 7-8 months of usage.

You can post the screenshot at Settings > Battery, that includes the green graph with the last 24 hours option selected and the top 5 apps consuming the battery, but honestly something does not seem right with a 94% Battery Health on an iPhone 13.

I actually got the device early 2024, and until 3 months ago the battery health was at 100%

So, let's say early 2024 was Feb/Mar , so the battery stayed at 100% until it began to decline around April / May 2025. That would mean that the battery stayed at 100% for more than a year.

I'm with Mac Jim ID. Things just don't add up.

I think the battery numbers displayed on the phone are way off, unless you have a one of a kind world's most amazing battery (that also won't hold a charge).

Have you taken the phone in for testing at the Genius Bar or an authorized Apple service shop?

I purchased the phone from a local JB Hi-Fi

Well, if they are not an authorized Apple dealer, you did not buy a new phone. If you can't find the dealer in the list of authorized dealers in your area using the link below, they were not authorized by Apple.

Find Locations

If that is the case, they likely bought a refurbished phone and the battery settings were software "boosted" to make the battery look a lot better than it really was. That would explain the 100% reading on the battery for more than a year. Batteries don't work that way in the real world.

If Apple detects that the phone has been tampered with, they may not touch it.

Good luck though.

The iPhone 13 was discontinued in September 2024, so a phone purchased at that time would be in the 11 month old range. So, a battery at 94% Max Cap would be possible if the phone were not driven that hard.

On average, phones at the time declined using a "rule of thumb" at roughly about 1% a month, but that was an average. Some batteries did better and some worse.

It would help if we knew if the iPhone was new when it placed into service and when exactly it was placed into service. Hopefully, the OP will post back with more info and details.

Might also be useful to know if the phone was connecting to a 5G cellular network most of the time.
