How do I locate Apple device using serial number?

You cannot locate a Mac by the serial number. The Mac would need to have had Find My enabled. You can check to see if that was done, if it’s on your account it will show up here:

Locate a device in Find Devices on iCloud.com - Apple Support

FindMy is the ONLY “technical means” provisioned by Apple for users to locate their devices.
