I need a free language translation app.

Translate text on Mac - Apple Support (IS)

macOS has a built-in translation functionality (not a separate app, though.) To use it, select the text to translate, right-click it and choose Translate.

What browser are you using? I use Firefox and I have the Simple Translate extension where can highlight text and a few seconds later an icon appears next to it. I click on the icon and it shows in English what I have highlighted.

Also in Firefox: highlight text and then right click > To Google Translate

Any problem with Apple apps like Safari, Mail, Messages, Notes?
