How do I recover iCloud password without a phone number?

I forgot my icloud password and the number assigned to it is not correct so it doesn't exist. I waited the first 24 hours, then 13 days but the reset text is yet to come and the 13 days is over. Is there another way to accomplish this?

Make sure you did not do anything that would have caused the Account Recovery request to be cancelled, requiring you to start over.

  • If you started your account recovery in Settings, System Settings, or the Apple Support app, you can continue to use that specific device during the account recovery period.
  • Regardless of how you started the account recovery request, you should turn off all other devices that are currently signed in with your Apple Account until account recovery is complete. If your Apple Account is in use during your request, your account recovery will be cancelled automatically.
  • If you started your account recovery request with iforgot.apple.com through your device’s browser, you should avoid using that device during this period. If possible, turn that device off. Using that device might cancel account recovery.

If you do not receive the text after the waiting period from the email, it is recommended to:

  • When the waiting period is over, Apple will send you a text or automated phone call with instructions to regain access to your account. If you don’t receive the text or call, once the period specified in the original email is over, you can still go directly to apple.com/recover. Follow the instructions to regain access to your Apple Account.

Thank you. I followed the apple.com/recovery site, and I was successful after 11 days. It took that long because I messed with the account too much, and I couldn't receive emails on iCloud Mail until I entered the password, which I couldn't do. Also, I didn't turn off the phone but kept using it, and I still got the text to reset.

My new problem now is how to input the WhatsApp backup to the iPhone from the Android that I started using.

Since Android and iPhone use different cloud storage for WhatsApp backups (Google Drive and iCloud, respectively), you cannot directly restore a Google Drive backup to an iPhone. And I do not want to lose my data or reset my phone.

Re: Password reset : I forgot my icloud password and the number assigned to it is not correct so it doesn't exist.

Your Apple Account is the account you use to access Apple services like the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more. It includes the email address and password you use to sign in as well as the contact, payment, and security details you use across Apple services.

You may be able to sign in with your Apple Account password:

Eg: You are likely signed in here with your Apple Account details, as well as in Messages, FaceTime etc.

You are likely signed in to your iPhone with your correct details:

Sign in to your Apple Account on the web or in your device settings - Apple Support

See if you can sign in to iCloud on the web using your Aopple Account details:

You may be able to get a verification code on your device:

I don't know for sure whether or not you started an Account Recovery process with Apple. (Generally a last resort)

____

If so: Mac Jim ID's excellent reply about that process may help.

____

If not: On your iPhone:

Ensure you list the correct phone number in your Apple Account

Eg: About trusted phone numbers and trusted devices for Apple Account - Apple Support says: "Add or change your trusted phone numbers

  • On your iPhone : Go to Settings > [your name] > Sign-In & Security > Two-Factor Authentication. Below the list of devices and phone numbers, tap Add Trusted Phone Number."

If successful you may need to wait 24 hours for the update of the new number, to appear everywhere it is in use.

The video (link provided earlier) explains :

where to enter your iPhone password in your iPhone

and then

how to reset your Apple account password on your iPhone

by entering and confirming a new password.

If you tried that without success ... what happened ... error message ?

Good Job on removing the lock.

The only way I know of that WhatsApp allows for transferring chat history from Android to iPhone is by using the Move to iOS app on the Android Phone after a Factory Reset of the iPhone. I have not seen where they offer anyway to transfer an Android backup to the iPhone.
