No notifications for some iMessages/text messages

For MONTHS: My iPhone and Apple Watch do not sound or have haptic notifications for some text messages. It's typically the people I text the most (my husband and kids), but now it's happening with nearly all text messages. If I have another app open, sometimes the alert will sound. It's not consistent at all, but it's the majority of the time. I'll have a sound alert on 1 out of 20, at best.

• The sound on the phone is on.
• The conversations are not muted or blocked.
• I'm receiving the message/text, the banner notification, and the lock screen, but not the sound or haptic.
• All focus modes are off.
• The ringer is turned up.
• It happens with the speaker of the phone, AirPods, and the watch speaker.
• I'm using Apple-provided sounds for notifications.
• All notifications are turned on.
• I'm receiving sound alerts for other apps.
• I've toggled off/on every setting and restarted my iPhone and watch (and all other devices).
• I have the latest iOS update (This has been happening through multiple iOS updates).
• I've contacted Apple support.

Apple. PLEASE. Fix this issue. It's happening to multiple people in my family and other Apple users.
