How do I transfer video files from iPhone?

I have a bunch of video files ON my iPhone 15 Pro Max that I need to transfer to a MBP. The only option I see is to transfer to a cloud or use airdrop which isn't helpful. IS there a way to just transfer via usb cable like with a normal recording device?

You could sync your iPhone to your Mac: Sync your photos manually using the Finder - Apple Support. But it's really a sync, not a transfer of specific files.

Otherwise you could use a third-party application like iMazing that would allow you, among quite a few other things, to copy specific videos to your Mac. (Just tested it for that purpose and it works like a charm.)
