Water damage on a newly replaced (factory refurbished) Iphone 15?

Apple replaced my Iphone 15 with a factory refurbished one two weeks ago due to a swelling battery in my original phone. Yesterday, my phone was exposed to fresh water for less than one minute. It worked after the exposure, but it green-screened last night and I can't restart it. Given the minimal exposure on a phone I received from Apple less than two weeks ago, it seems like the refurbished phone may not have been as water resistant as a new one. Is there a chance I can get them to replace this one?

Lobsterghost,

Yeah, I know their policy; I was just being optimistic.

As far as it not being Apple's fault that it got wet, I can't argue with that. However, advertising the phone as meeting the IP68 standard for water resistance and then being rendered completely useless with *much* less severe exposure sure seems to border on fraud to me. (Please note: none of this frustration is directed at you! )

Tnx...

Trust me, I get the frustration. But like a high-end what which is "water-resistant," they are most definitely NOT waterproof. Apple tests the IP68 rating in lab controlled conditions. None of us live in lab controlled conditions.

That would be Apple's call and as users......just like you....we cannot speak for them.

I will say though that Apple will not repair a water damaged phone, and.....my opinion here.....I doubt that they will replace a phone due to water damage.

Note that my opinion is worth about as much as you had to pay to view this web page.
