iPhone 15 is overheating while charging

That's right but your iPhone is NOT overheating. Apple introduced a new feature when you charge with a fast charger, where the phone will rapidly charge to 80%, then pause charging so it DOESN'T actually overheat. Once the phone cools a bit, charging will resume. This is the new normal and is NOT a cause for concern. If your phone was actually overheating, it would display a thermometer with a message saying you can't use the phone until it cools. You didn't see that as your phone isn't overheating at all. It's doing exactly what Apple designed it to do.

It is not overheating. That is normal, especially if you have it connected to a fast charger. It will fast charge to about 80%, then pause for the battery to cool to avoid damaging it.

if it was "overheating" it would shut down.
