iPhone 15 is overheating while charging

I heard beeping while using my AirPod Pros on a phone call to alert me to the overcharging. The message indicated that the phone wouldn’t start charging until the temperature dropped.

iPhone 15, iOS 18

That's right but your iPhone is NOT overheating. Apple introduced a new feature when you charge with a fast charger, where the phone will rapidly charge to 80%, then pause charging so it DOESN'T actually overheat. Once the phone cools a bit, charging will resume. This is the new normal and is NOT a cause for concern. If your phone was actually overheating, it would display a thermometer with a message saying you can't use the phone until it cools. You didn't see that as your phone isn't overheating at all. It's doing exactly what Apple designed it to do.

if it was "overheating" it would shut down.
