Unexpected double charge for AirPods and cable from Apple Store

I ordered AirPods and a charger cable from the Apple Store online. Paid for them in full (£248)and then a week later I get a message on my bank app telling me that a payment £248 is due tomorrow. Confused as to what subscription I managed to keep that would charge me that amount and it turned out it’s the amount I paid at Apple Store.

Did your bank actually charge you twice? What I am wondering is if Apple was giving you a pending payment statement and then actually charged you when the items were shipped.

You can create a big mess by blocking payment to Apple instead of trying to resolve it with them first. You may, for example, find that your payment method is blocked from use with Apple for any other purchases.


Remember, as it says at the bottom of this page, this is a user to user forum. We are people like yourself, and can't do a single thing about this other than advise you. Apple won't see your post here. It sounds like you haven't even tried to ask Apple about this and that should be your first step. I provided contact information earlier.
