iPhone volume control resetting to maximum after gameplay and ads

I’m not sure why/how this started. It might be the most recent update from a few days ago. Suddenly, every time I leave a game app, and return, the volume resets to maximum, regardless of what level I set. Every time an ad starts, the volume resets to maximum. I have to keep turning it down, repeatedly. I do NOT appreciate this hijacking of my control over the volume on my phone. In fact, I want better management of all sound controls.

The app that you are using controls the sound level for that app, so it is the app that is “hijacking” the sound. And ads frequently reset the sound to get your attention. If this is unacceptable to you get rid of the app or apps where this is a problem.

Note also that the sound level you set when viewing the Home screen is only for alerts and the ringer. The volume controls when in an app control the sound level for that app.
