It‘s been decades and I can‘t believe there is literally everything except a raven!! It‘s a normal animal, cultural, spirit animal.. please give us a crow emoji.

Hi Katana-San,

Here's the page for emojis that have been accepted, declined, or are under consideration.

https://unicode.org/emoji/emoji-proposals-status.html

Crow is already in the set. And since the Unicode Consortium has assigned both crow and raven to the same emoji, the chances we'll ever see a separate raven emoji is pretty much zero. It would fall under one of the examples of reasons a submission would be declined:

  1. The emoji {🐕🐩} or {🐪🐫} do not justify adding different varieties of the same kind of animal.

There are only so many positions to work with in one font. If a raven were added, then people would complain there's no blue jay. If that were added, then people would say why isn't there a robin, a Baltimore oriole, and thousands of others. There has to be a cut off somewhere or you could fill all 65,000 plus unicode spaces just with birds.

Zachyy's solution is as good as it's ever going to get to cover imagery that isn't part of the emoji set. The only real difference is when you use an emoji, all that's sent in your email or message is a tag saying what font the glyph is in, and what unicode position. A genmoji is placed as a small raster image in your message. Just as if you had added a photo of your own.

In addition, we don't know your iPhone model since it wasn't provided in your tagline, but the latest models with Apple Intelligence capabilities, the 15 Pro and newer, have Genmoji which allows it to create custom emojis based on your own descriptions. When I typed in crow, here were the first two generated emojis, and you can always tweak them to your liking.
