can a rogue tradesman delete or txt messages so i have no proof
A tradesman whom I need proof of out txt messaging appears to of deleted from my phone can I find them elsewhere and how can he do this

No one can delete messages off your iPhone. The only exception is if they unsent the message within 2 minutes of it being sent which would remove it from both recipients devices, otherwise past that would only delete on their device. Also if you had Auto-Delete messages set to 30 Days, or 1 Year, they would have automatically been deleted. If you have a previous backup with the messages, you could recover it, and you can check your Recently Deleted messages folder.
