for no apparent reason. attached is the error. i dont think it's hardware flaw it feels like software because before the freeze it runs fine. i tried to run apple diagnostics which reported no issues, and the cleanmymac app. any ideas? help is greatly appreciated

I would remove the add-on cleaner app as well, as those apps are among a group of add-on apps that can cause stability and integrity issues. Some add-on cleaner apps and add-on security apps can further cause corruptions, which can mean a re-install.

Insufficient free space, that add-on cleaner, old VirtualBox, old FUSE, too. Various other outdated app versions.
Lots of Munki usage too, which usually goes with an organizational-affiliated or managed Mac.
