Why are my epub files duplicating when creating a Collection on Apple Books app?

I am trying to create folders/Collections of the books I am reading on Apple Books. These files are all epubs. Whenever I try and move some to a folder, it duplicates each epub file. Why is it doing that?

Downloaded epubs don't show up in the books folder Hi, I've added 20+ epubs to my Books account, all of which I bought outside Apple's Book Store. The books sync between my Macbook and iPhone without an issue. I was trying to find the downloaded epub files (~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks), but when I get there, the Books folder is empty. I checked my Books account, and to my surprise, it shows like I have no books in it (picture attached). Both my Mac and iPhone use the same iCloud account, so I don't know why this is happenning. Unable to download my books onto my laptop For some reason I am unable to read my books that are clearly listed in my library on my Mac. I mostly read them on my phone and have attempted to alter the account settings in order to allow usage on my Mac but seem to be unable to figure it out. Cloud looks fine, I can see all the books. Just cannot download them.

Why does Books refuse to import from my Mac I use Books on my iPad as an ereader and up 'till some weeks ago it refuses to import books it once had imported them without any problem whatsoever. The situation is as follows: I did an import of -about- 34 books I had stored in iCloud. Then I changed my mind and removed most of them from the library so there remained only 4 or five books, so I don't have to scroll through endless pages of the library. When I finished these books I wanted to import the next 5 books, but that didn't work. Books refuses to import books via File>Import and responds with Importing:0 of 1. Failed: 1 What's wrong with Books?

When epubs are moved to another collection you need to remove it from the collection you don't want it in (but they can't be removed from the Books collection). It isn't really duplicating ie it isn't increasing your storage space.
