error message trying to restore iPhone "unknown error occurred 3001

I keep getting an error message when I am trying restore my phone. I have already plugged it into my MacBook and the phone freezes up giving me an error message of "unknown error occurred (3001). 132E.FFFF

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 18

If your MacBook is using a VPN, remove it. Either a VPN or Antivirus software can change the Hosts file that will not allow communication with Apple's update server. More information and recommendations are available here:
