Apple iPad Air 5th Gen extended display on working

Ref:- iPad Air 5th Gen. 64GB, Wi-Fi, 10.9in, M1 Chip ipad OS 18.6.2

Hi,

When I try to connect a external display I don't see anything on the external screen.

I have tried connecting to various monitors and a TV.

I bought a new USB-C Display AV Adapter ( USB- 3.1-C to the HDMI adapter )

Stage Manager is enabled and ticked in settings

Tried,

Various HDMI cables, 2 of which are high quality.

Tried to connect to a TV with correct input set to the HDMI on screen notice says "no cable connected"

Just wondering if I am missing something in settings? Only been using the ipad air for 2 months, so not to sure.

Thinking it could be this new USB-C Display AV Adapter that is the problem?
