Unable to log into MacBook Air despite changing password

I was only on my laptop eailier this week. But I have just turned my laptop on and for some reason it’s telling me it’s the wrong password. I know it’s the right one as I was only on it a few days ago and had no trouble. I have tried resetting the laptop changing passwords but nothing is working. I have also tried a variety of different passwords but nothing is working. Is this something that is happening to other people or has something happened to my laptop.

“Others” don’t really matter if you can’t log-on to your MBA.

See if this procedure might help:

If you forgot your Mac login password - Apple Support

Go slowly and deliberately.

The procedure covers a LOT of different hardware and software configurations.

There ARE steps which will NOT apply to your particular setup.

Read the on-screen prompts VERY carefully.

Read every instruction twice and think before typing on the keyboard.
