M3 Max Macbook Pro 16 inch (Nov 2023) (macOS Version 15.6.1) - Clamshell mode with Displaylink adapter Multiple Monitor issue

Hello. I'm using macOS Version 15.6.1 (Build 24G90) and I need assistance. I'm experiencing following issues with DisplayLink software and/or hardware:

Hi,

I am using "DisplayLink 15-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station - WAVLINK Quad Monitor 4K@60Hz, Single 8K@30Hz, 98W Charging, 3xThunderbolt 4 Ports, 2xHDMI, 2xDP, 10Gbps USB 3.1, USB C Laptop Dock for Mac/Windows" which I purchased from amazon Australia. Product Link: "https://amazon.com.au/dp/B0CLV4K48C" with M3 Max Macbook Pro 16 inch (Nov 2023) (macOS Version 15.6.1 (Build 24G90)) with Latest version Displaylink 13.0.0 (Build 33).

I have reviewed all setting multiple times, but had no success so far in solving the issue.

I have connected following to the docking station:

1. 2 LG 4K Monitors through HDMI and DisplayPort

2. Sony A7r4 through Elgato CAM Link 4K Adapter to USB-A

3. Elgato Teleprompter to TBT4

4. Rode USB Podmic to TBT4

5. Ethernet Cable to router

Issues:

1.Macbook wont wake up when the lid is down (Clamshell mode).

2. When I am working in clamshell mode, it disconnects randomly and then I have to lift the lid up on MacBook. When I check the Displaylink Software, it shows no external devices connected. I have to kill the app and start it again. Put the lid down and then press keys on external keyboard to get it to work again.

3. It is quite frustrating as it has happened during live Zoom calls when I was in meeting.

I have been trying to look online on various forums but have had no success so far. I would really appreciate If I could get some resolution for this.

Thanks,

Deep Sidhu

My guess would be the DisplayLink software. Uninstall the software and set the Dock aside. Connect your monitors directly. Test to see if you experience the same problems.

Thanks, I tried to uninstall and re-insall the software but the problem persist. Connecting monitors directly doesn't help much as I also need to connect Camera, Mic and Prompter, and there are not enough ports.

I suggested you “test” that setup to help isolate the source of the problem.

If the displays work correctly, you can contact DisplayLink for a fix.

Seems like I have to live with it.

Disconnects only happen when I am recording a video, otherwise it just works fine even with all the devices connected.
