How to search only one folder in Finder

I'm trying to organize a large library of files, dividing some folders into subfolders, etc. Unfortunately Finder doesn't have any option to ignore subfolders that I can find, and even when I select "Search the Current Folder" in preferences it not only shows subfolders, but items I have already moved to a different folder are still showing in the search, and that folder is NOT contained in the searched folder.

An example below. It shows they are different folders, which folder is being searched, and an example highlighted that is not in the folder the search request was for.

As already noted, Finder search recurs through subfolders, and there is no way that I know of to prevent that.

You can certainly add more parameters to narrow the search.

As to the search reporting stuff that is not there, I have not experienced it. And as far as I can see, there is nothing in your screenshot documenting such an error. The selected file in the first screenshot does not seem to occur in the second one (note: I am not saying you did not see it, just that the example provided does not document such an occurrence).

EDIT - if limiting folder depth is a must, then steve626's recommendation is great!
