IPhone started asking for IMAP Password last week, nothing I know works.

I have deleted my email account from my IPhone and then reinstalled it. It works all the way to the end and then I get a message that my Comcast internet is not working (but it is.) Now what?

I spent all morning with Comcast, finally got a young lady who knew her stuff. The problem seems to be in Apple mail not recognizing the current password for my email account at Xfinity. I can get to it through the internet on my IPad, but not using the normal envelope at the bottom of the screen. I think I need to go to the genius bar at the Apple store and have them take a look. Any idea how to make an appointment with them, they don't usually take walk-ins in Bonita Springs.

Sign into your comcast on a web browser, go into settings - security and see if 3rd party mail app is allowed for long in.

Also are you using 2FA?

This is something Xfinity support should be able to resolve for you.

Thanks, you did what six hours of consultation with both Apple and Xfinity couldn't - email works!! I had to delete both email accounts and then re-install, but it works for now. The Apple Support person thought Comcast (Xfinity) had changed servers back in June and somehow that caused the problem with communication between the systems.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestion of going to Security and allowing 3rd Party Apps.
