When I answer calls on my MacBook pro they can't hear me.

I used to be able to answer calls on my MacBook Pro and have normal phone conversations. Now, I can answer and hear the caller, but they can’t hear me. What’s the solution?

Can I use Hearing Aids for WhatsApp calls on MacBook Air? Hearing aid works overall for music like Spotify/Youtube, but when I'm trying to get on a call on WhatsApp they cannot hear me or even hear them. It's just like all audio and mic just cut off. Why can't other person hear me in FaceTime calls on MacBook Pro? When I use FaceTime, the other person can't hear me but I can hear them fine. I am using a MacBook Pro 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.10), when I use Discord or Zoom it works well. I have rebooted and made sure the sound is on and as loud as it can get, they have rebooted their devices too. Calling from my phone works, just not my MacBook Pro. any help would be appreciated, thanks [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Is your microphone functioning properly? Go to System Settings > Sound > Input tab (bottom section), make sure the built-in mic is selected and that the level meter 'lights up' to the right when you make noise.
