Camera Not Recognised After iOS 18.6.2 Update (iPhone 14 Plus)

Earlier today rear camera stopped working -- the camera app started displaying a black screen when the rear camera was selected. The front camera is working fine.

Thinking it was a software bug, I updated to iOS 18.6.2 from iOS 18.6.1. I got a "Camera Not Recognised" alert on unlocking the phone after restart. My phone still has the genuine camera module which shipped it shipped with It has never even been opened.

Has anyone else faced this? Is this a coincidence that this happened hours before the new iPhone launch? Any help will be appreciated.

I love conspiracy theories! NO, this is not timed with the announcement of new phones. But you likely have a hardware issue with the camera on your phone. Hardware can fail at any time. Take your phone to your closest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and have the phone tested.

Before you do that however, Force Restart your iPhone and see if the message goes away --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If you get this message and your camera is genuine there is severe hardware issues going on I am afraid

Yes, facing the similar issues. The flashlight of the phone is also not working.
