AxeFx-II XL+ bricked after macOS Sequoia update on Mac

Been an Apple user for many years, the latest Sequoia update seems to have bricked my guitar processor...

I have been running the current studio setup for many years without any issues... The AxeFx connects into Mac via USB, it is managed with Edit App, uploads audio into Logic Pro, and plays simultaneously with Music App or by itself for practice.... Ultimately, all Audio output from Mac goes to MOTU 828x via Lightning connection and that feeds two active monitors... Great setup for practicing and recording...

Since the last update the AxeFx is no longer recognized as a PRIMARY audio source (all controls grayed out in Sound Setup) I get no audio output from it. When AxeFx is selected as Input/Ouput, the audio level meter moves but no sound comes out at all, regardless of any other sources playing simultaneously. Nothing in my setup has changed except for the latest update to Sequoia... I keep up with new updates, love the new Logic Pro 11 features, but if that kills a simple legacy audio interface what is the point. All my guitar presets that I have been building years, are now rendered useless...

I have no idea how many other folks are in the same boat I am, but I urge Apple to do something about this... I chose to put my loyalties with Apple (MacOS) for its tradition of responsiveness to resolving issues (not creating new ones) and supporting "artistic" applications (Graphics, Video, Audio).

Please do something to correct this problem... Cheers

I had never heard of this product so I went online to learn more about it.

Along the way I stumbled onto this page:

https://www.fractalaudio.com/axe-fx-ii-downloads/

The most recent USB driver says it is for Catalina. That MacOS dates from 2019!

In fact, none of the drivers for any OS are from later than 2019. And many of the manuals or documentation date from 2013 or 2014.

Is this product even supported anymore? On the support page, it lists your FX-II product as "legacy" and instead lists items for FX-III, the current version of the product. And on the downloads page for the FX-III, it says:

"No Driver is required for Mac OS X.

Connect the Axe-Fx III via USB and it will appear

in System Preferences and all audio/MIDI apps."

Are you using a long (6 years) outdated product that is no longer compatible with a modern version of the MacOS?

I don’t own anything like that, but history here shows most audio hardware does not handle macOS upgrades well at all. You need to confirm with the hardware manufacturer that it will work with the upgrade and will be supported. Without any information from the manufacturer, you should never upgrade macOS.

Apple has nothing to do with third-party hardware.
