AirPlay being interrupted by a second IPhone in the room

When I airplay from my iPhone 13 to my TCL TV with Roku TV, it generally works fine. However, the last several times i have done this, the stream gets disconnected when another person in the room looks at their iPhone. I can’t imagine why this would be an issue but it is unmistakably the cause of the disconnection. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, were you able to fix it?

Update your TV's firmware.

Simply using their iPhone won’t steal your stream — but if they tap the AirPlay icon or attempt to connect, that will. So, it's best to remind them not to test the connection while you’re casting.

On the bystander’s phone, go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff and toggle off Transfer to TV. That stops their device from “sniffing” your Roku.
