How can I turn off “Request More Time” in Screen Time?

I am trying to figure out how to disable the "request more time" function on screen time.

This is important for compulsive phone users who use Screentime to block internet, for example, at night.

I set this up initially, and things were fine. Screentime effectively blocked internet use once the downtime hour arrived.

But now, a "request 15 more minutes" window pops up which can be used over and again, effectively rendering Downtime useless.

Please advise how I can effectively block internet activity during downtime.

You can’t fully turn off the “Request More Time” option in Screen Time — it’s built into iOS as part of the parental controls workflow. Apple assumes that if Screen Time is enabled with app limits, children should always have the ability to ask for extra time from the organizer.

Switch to “Downtime” only

Instead of using App Limits, you can enforce restrictions with Downtime (and block all apps except a chosen few).
In Downtime, there’s no “Request More Time” — the only way to get in is via the passcode.
