How to get 1080p videos onto Ipad?

Hi I am planning a trip that I will be taking many 1080p HD videos with my Canon Mega Zoom Camera.
I am planning on just bringing the Ipad and the camera. I have the Camera Connection Kit but it will not transfer 1080 p videos. Any ideas about how I can get my videos over to the ipad? (I really want to leave my laptop at home)
Also on a side note, I can't even take the 720p videos from my Iphone 4, because the Ipad Camera Connection Kit doesn't work with the Iphone 4!!!!

Not all Video codec and even h.264 will transfer over to the iPad with the Camera Connection Kit. The Flip Camera video for example won't work with CCK. The GoodReader app might read your videos. But, you need a computer to transfer the videos to the iPad.

Since you have tried and the video don't work, your out of luck in you situation. Bring your laptop.

Don't give up....There may be another way you can try.

If you can load the movie on to your computer. Do a search on downloads.com for free iPad converters. Use that program to convert the movie to Ipad format and then drag the output movies into the Itunes movie section, then select connect and select your iPad ... them go to the movie tab and select the movies you want to synchronize on your iPad..!

Do the 720p videos transfer to the iPad? Maybe Apple made it so it wont take the higher resolution videos on purpose since the ipad screen only has 768 pixels vertically and not 1080.
