Will minor scratches impact my iPhone 15 trade in value?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to trade in my iPhone 15 when purchasing a new iPhone at the Apple Store, and I’d like to ask for some advice regarding the condition of my device.

As you can see in the attached photos, there are two small scratches on the top edge of the phone and one minor scratch on the side frame. Other than that, the phone is in very good condition, works perfectly, and has no issues with the display, back glass, or functionality.

My question is: will these minor cosmetic scratches affect the trade-in value, or should I still expect to receive the full estimated amount shown on Apple’s website?

Has anyone had experience with Apple reducing the value because of such small marks?

Minor cosmetic scratches shouldn't affect it, as long as they don't affect the functionality and are below a certain depth. You would need to have an Apple Genius evaluate it though.

Only Apple can truly answer that question. But doing it in person at an Apple Store is much better than just sending it in to have it determined somewhere else.
