iPad Pro M4 with carrier lock and unusual country code QA/A

I currently have a used iPad Pro M4 on my desk. It has the model number NVXU3 and the country code QA/A. It also appears to have a carrier lock. Does anyone know what country version it is?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 26

• Problem: Your iPad Pro M4, model NVXU3, with country code QA/A and a carrier lock, shows a locked region and unusual code. QA/A is the Apple code for Qatar, so it’s a Middle East version. Carrier lock means it will only work with the original Qatari SIM/carrier unless unlocked.

• What to try:

 • Check carrier: Insert the original SIM if possible, or contact the carrier for unlock options.

 • Check iPad compatibility: Some features or warranty support may be region-specific.

 • Avoid international eSIM/physical SIM attempts until it’s unlocked — otherwise it may not work.

• Conclusion: This is normal for region-locked Apple devices. The unusual country code QA/A = Qatar, and the carrier lock must be addressed if you want to use it elsewhere.

Is this an untested AI response? Only one AI claims that QA stands for Qatar. However, there's no source for this, and the region codes aren't logical; LL, for example, stands for the USA.

Several online sources say Qatar uses the identifier AE/A for example: https://theapplewiki.com/wiki/Model_Regions or here: iPhone model number country code - Apple Community
