can i buy the 256 GB version of the TEAL iphone 16 online? i can only find the 128 GB and i definitely need more storage than that. would going in person to the store help? can they order one for me?

To check, I went out to Apple.com and tried. It appears, you can only order the 16 in Teal with 128GB. But you CAN buy the 16 Plus in Teal with 256.
As to why, you'll have to contact Apple directly and ask. Keep in mind that when Apple introduces new phones each year, the non-Pro model of the previous year remains, but usually as the value option of the phones available from Apple.
You might want to upgrade to the new iPhone 17, which starts at 256GB for $799. Teal isn't an option but Mist Blue looks quite nice as does Lavender and Sage Green.
