iPhone 12 locked from iCloud by a pawn shop

My iPhone 12 is locked from iCloud by a pawn shop and I can't access my iCloud because it's locked by you. They can't unlock my iCloud.

No one on this user to user only forum locked your iPhone. Should we assume you bought a used iPhone from a Pawn Shop? If yes, return it for refund. You can't use the phone. Apple won't unlock the phone, because you aren't the original owner who locked the phone, unless you have the original purchase receipt from Apple, which shows the serial number of the device when it was purchased new. You won't have that.

Buying a used iPhone from a Pawn Shop, which is locked to whoever previously owned it, means you bought a useless, you can never use it iPhone.

The pawn shop sold you what is indistinguishable from a lost or stolen device, if it is not an actually lost or stolen device.

It’ll never be useful to you.

Not unless the pawn shop can contact the owner of record and get them to release it.

Sell it back to the pawn shop. Or recycle it.

A second-hand iPhone, that you got from a pawn shop, that is Activation Locked? At the very least, the previous owner did not prepare it properly for resale … and what you have may even be stolen property.

If the pawn shop will not either

  • Temporarily take the phone back, and get the previous owner to prepare the phone properly for resale (which seems unlikely), or
  • Return your money

what you will have is a brick that you will never be able to use.

You cannot bypass Activation Lock, we cannot, and Apple will not, It is there to protect the interests of the owner associated with the phone – that is to say, someone other than you.
