I just updated to iOS26. When I open Applications settings (the very bottom section in settings) and try to open any of the applications, the screen freezes indefinitely until i close the settings.
I don’t think i can attach the log here but there is a new one created after each situation. It happens every time i try

I noticed the same issue in my 15 plus and searched it in the web. Then found that many others face this issue. I tried opening the settings app after disabling the liquid glass theme, then it didn’t freeze. But the whole point of iOS 26 is liquid glass theme, so I enabled it again after making the change in the settings 😂😂.
To disable the liquid glass theme, do this.
Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Turn off Reduce Transparency.
Yeah i actually restarted the phone and the issue is gone, most of the stutters as well. Not all of them though

I solved all of the freezing issues by simply switching my cell phone service back to Verizon. It pained me to have to do it but it was absolutely necessary. I now get a whole lot more spam but I guess I’ll live with it.
Yea its very slow opening apps. Very buggy. Its still processing the software in the background. It takes about a week or so to finish processing.
Hi I have almost the same issue, but only for non-Apple apps (eg. Amazon).

Reducing transparency, unfortunately, didn't solve the issue.
My daughter has an iPhone 16 Pro on iOS 26 and doesn't have any problem.
Yeah, this happened to me too. I installed iOS 26 this morning, and the experience has been amazing, but there are still bugs, such as the app settings bug. But hopefully Apple releases a fix for all the bugs.
I have the same problem. I downloaded the iOS 26 this morning on my iPhone 14 Pro and I lost my contacts, I lost my calendar, I lost my ability to call people and to receive phone calls. I basically have a brick right now. I had to borrow my friends Android to call Apple as well as my stock broker. I smell a rat!
My iOS 26 installation was so corrupt I can't even access my Settings feature. Everything in this app is frozen.
I can't make phone calls or receive phone calls. No phone on WhatsApp either.
I went to Best Buy and had them reset my iPhone back to factory settings. I went home and reinstalled iOS26 and had the exact same result.
I now have to drive 2 1/2 hours tomorrow to the closest Apple Store for an appointment so they can take a look at it. I'll probably end up walking out with the iPhone 17 Pro.
Since downloading iOS 26 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, I have been going through an absolutely terrible experience. From Friday, I’ve been unable to use my phone at all – I can’t make calls, send messages, or even access my contacts and email, as the apps keep freezing. I have already carried out several factory resets, but nothing has worked. Apple has booked me in for Wednesday, which means I am left completely cut off from the world for several days. The situation has been agonising, leaving me disconnected and frustrated.
Sadly turning off transparency did not fix the settings-> apps freeze for me :( Hopefully Apple fixes this soon since I cant change any settings on any apps right now.

Even I have the same issue with their previous pro model - iPhone 16Pro. The settings screen just gets freezed every time I open settings. This is annoying!
