Apple Account verification failed after not verifying phone number

After creating my iCloud and apple account i did not verify my phone number the next morning my apple account was requiring me to sign in again when I sign in with the same password it was bringing verification failed unknown error occurred or account not active my iCloud was not working until I signed it out of my AppStore and created an apple Gmail account to enable me download things on AppStore.
