Safari 26 on Sequoia 15.7 won’t let me edit URLs on my main account

I updated to Sequoia 15.7 and Safari 26 for Sequoia.

On 1 (the main administrator) account I cannot edit the URL. I can do most anything else but search. On 2 other accounts it is working.

15.7 worked with the old Safari but issues with the new one.

I have safe booted, still with the problem and reinstalled the OS and Safari with the same problems.

Two other users have no problems.

I have no vpn or virus software.

I am tempted to boot from recovery and not install the latest Safari, just Sequoia. Can't figure why Safari update is failing

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have the same issue.

I just updated the macOS to Sequoia 15.7, and tabs in Safari cannot close([x]button isn't working), cannot edit the URL(the URL isn't responding when I click it).

And the problem is disappeared when I use the 'separate tab mode' instead of 'compact tab mode'.

The tab is editable when it's been just opened, but once you clicked anything else and try to edit tab, it's not working anymore.
