After updating to iPadOS 26 a floating button is permanently on the iPad screen

After updating iPadOS 26 onto my iPad-Pro 12.9" 6th gen, a floating button - presumably the Accessibility Shortcut control, is permanently on the screen. There are no option set in Settings to allow this. A triple press on this button causes the screen to become lcoked.
