Removing the black rectangle when typing in iOS 26

It’s a feature called Hover Typing. To turn it on or off –

1. Go to settings

2. Select Accessibility

3. Select Keyboards & Typing

4. Select Hover Typing

5. Turn it on or off in here

That is Hover Typing and was available on iOS 18 too. It is not specific to iOS 26. The change was made in the Accessibility Settings.

I can’t find that setting, From Settings, what is the exact navigation? Is it in accessibility?

We need the author to come back and confirm that they really meant Hover Typing setting, and dismiss the indication that it is ios14 on an SE as per the signature.

Totally over my head so far.

What app are you in in the screenshot?

Yeah, it seemed odd to me too. Perhaps they are using a different language on their phone and that is how it is written?
