How do I hide inbox in Mail on iPadOS 26

Since updating to iPadOs 26, I have not been able to hide the inbox on my iPad.

Is there a trick to this? I read all my emails on my iPad, but there is not much room to read emails when the inbox is showing.

I have made the inbox as small as possible.

Mail sidebars on tablets should work the same way they do on the iPhone, they disappear when you tap on the message/icon at the top.

This is actually an accessibility issue for individuals with low vision. So for the record, Apple, you're trampling all over the ability of people with some disabilities to continue to use your products. For the record, the 26.0.1 v upgrade did not help.

John, many thanks for the link to Product Feedback! However, when I follow the link, I see that although there are 30 different iOS/iPadOS app icons shown, there is not one for Mail. The icon depth on the Feedback landing page includes unlikely apps like Apple Sports, Freeform, and Clips, which, while may be perfectly fine apps, cannot possibly get the traffic that iOS/iPadOS Mail gets, can they? The omission of iOS/iPadOS Mail would seem to be either intentional, which is worrisome, or unintentional, and thus sloppy, which also worries me. Either way, there's no promising way to leave feedback on this new feature deprecation in iOS/iPadOS Mail. I wish Apple the best in executing in a more effective and logical way in future OS updates.
