Select button buried in iOS 26 Mail

I upgraded it to iPadOS 26 yesterday, and I am finding that the button to select multiple mail messages is buried on a three dot menu along with the inbox layout options.

A little research showed that this was a thing in early beta versions of iOS 26, but supposedly it was removed in a later beta. Did they not remove it from the iPad version of iOS 26? On my iPhone, I do have the select button available in my inbox.

I did try closing all apps and restarting the iPad to see if that would help, but it did not.

Thanks!

Same here : on my iPhone the Select button is shown while on the iPad it is now behind the ⋯⃝ button. But if you go to a specific folder ("Trash" for instance) the Select button reappears.

I guess this is because the Inbox folders have additional settings (Categories...) and the Select button would not fit. (On the iPhone, there is a top banner where the Select button is; this banner does not exist on the iPad.)

So, long story short: this is the way it now is.
