How do i block individual messages on my iPhone. I do not want to filter all messages by using the "filter" but want to do it for specific messages. (I have tried to block them in Messages but they continue so I suspect that I am blocking incoming calls but not the messages.)

Make sure you block their contact. If you just blocked their phone number, then some people send iMessage from their Apple Account email address, which would still go through if you just blocked the number.

This is working as your link suggested. To answer your question, I was using the iPhone and iMac to block and was still getting messages from numbers I had blocked. I was also creating contacts for those numbers. I have deleted those contacts and only block (23 total) from my iPhone for the past two days and am not getting messages from blocked numbers. So I thought it did not matter where I blocked message numbers, but it seems to matter very much!
