CarPlay stopped working after iOS 26 update.

As far as I can tell I saw no difference in turning widgets off. (iPhone 17pro) Car play drops constantly with a wired connection,(2020 Silverado) whereas, iOS 18.X has no issues at all. I hope the 26.2 fixes this issue. It is pretty sad that software is still buggy months after release. Apple you need to do better.

Lost of testing and still no good. Doesn't matter what nav system I use, with connected to CarPlay, the GPS gets messed up. If I just use the phone not connected to the radio then GPS works fine so it's 100% a CarPlay issue.

I finally got Apple CarPlay to work with my 2021 F150 after the 26.1 upgrade. But another upgrade (26.2) was pushed on my phone and now I am back to the same random disconnect when using Apple Maps and Apple Music. Not sure what to do next.

After 5 months of ordeal with CarPlay, after the 26.3 update today I finally made a journey of about 30 minutes, and I didn't have a single disconnection, in my Mercedes GLB/22, I hope it's the final one.

I updated my phone to iOs 26.3 on Feb. 11 and now I can only connect to carplay with bluetooth , but I have to force it to connect. It will no longer recognize the usb other than to charge my phone. I have done the reset steps, reset the car electronics, renamed my phone and everything else that I have been told to try. Everything worked fine until this latest update. I am trying to connect to a 2025 Nissan.

Its likely not, it worked for me for my trip home the other day, today however it disconnected 2 times on me randomly again so i just decided to connect bluetooth instead ive tried all from cables to reseting network settings, fulling disconnecting from both car settings and phone settings and its still doing it

Still not working properly after 26.3 update. Honestly, ever since I’ve had this 2021 Toyota RAV4 CarPlay has been inconsistent. I thought it was the cable and so did the dealer obviously is not. I also have an android phone and it works with no problem. Otherwise, I’d be really ******. It’s too much money for things to not work correctly for this long. I’ve had a 2021 Toyota RAV4 for over a year now.

We shouldn’t have to jump through hoops and do all kind of tricks to get a $1000 phone to work in a 20 3040 $50,000+ car. It’s ridiculous and it’s been going on for a long time. Only thing I’ve seen that works is an android phone. It’s ridiculous and I probably won’t get points. This is a big fail, Apple and it’s not just with this update. I don’t know what’s going on with CarPlay in general, but it’s turning out to not be a very dependable product. Which is sad because it’s a safety hazard when you have this big display built into your car and no safe place to put a dang $20 clip on your windshield so you can see maps on your $1000 phone.

I just did the iOS 26.3 update since so many advised me that would solve the problem. NOPE. Still cannot see a CarPlay screen whether it’s wireless or wired. My 2018 Honda CRV never had problems at all until the iOS 26 debacle

The downside to wireless is that now I have to force a Bluetooth connection. After the 26.3 update, my vehicle and iPhone no longer connect automatically over Bluetooth. When trying to get them to connect, in the Bluetooth settings it always says "Be sure that device is within range and is powered on" or something similar and my first instinct is to yell that I am sitting inside the device that I am trying to connect to. When I do finally get it to connect to Carplay with Bluetooth, I can't use the vehicle's handsfree mode to use the phone. I have to disable Carplay and hope that I can reconnect with Bluetooth to use handsfree.

Tried this, but still no go. I can force my phone to connect to Carplay over Bluetooth, but when I do, I don't get notifications for incoming calls, emails, text messages or voicemail. It also causes issues with my Apple watch. I am done with trying to figure this out. I have reset my phone and the system in my vehicle several times. It is not too time consuming, but trying to get everything set back up is a pain.

no luck. iOS updates haven't made a difference. My wife's iphone 16 pro max works just fine with my stereo...it's just my 17 Pro Max that messes up navigation. It's so frustrating!

Yeah it finally gave up mid way through my drive today, i may try a hardware test next to be honest, apple support gave me a number to call but the support wanted me to retry all the stuff ive done already that didnt work,

Since iOS updated to 26.3 my 2025 Honda Cr-V will not connect. CarPlay has disappeared from the car's screen. I have tried every step that is recommended. At one point it says "connected" and then immediately disconnects again. So frustrating. Are there any new recommendations? Help help help!

Had a similar issue on my Ram after updating to 26.3.1. CarPlay would still work but the audio was distorted and only coming out of one speaker. Only happened in CarPlay. I could connect to just the phone (phone calls and music) and it worked fine. Followed the steps above and everything is working as expected now in CarPlay. Thank you LauraMackie!
